Your phone as a camera in OBS Studio
Camora turns your Android phone into a webcam on your computer. OBS Studio sees it as a normal camera called “Camora”, so you get your phone's much better camera in every scene, with no plugins and nothing else to install.

Good to know
Tips for OBS Studio
- The source stays black
- Another app may have Camora open. On Ubuntu only one app can use it at a time: leave the call or close the tab that has it, then open the source's properties and pick Camora again.
- Resolution
- Camora's camera sends 1080p (1920×1080). Set the phone to 1080p for the sharpest picture.
- Use OBS in calls too
- Build your scene with Camora in OBS, then start OBS's Virtual Camera and pick it in Zoom, Meet or Teams.
Questions
Is Camora free to use with OBS Studio?
Yes. Camora is free, with no ads, no watermark and no account: up to 1080p, and 60 fps if your phone supports it.
Does OBS Studio need a plugin for Camora?
No. Camora adds a camera called “Camora” to your computer, and OBS Studio lists it like any webcam.
USB or Wi-Fi?
USB has the lowest delay (about 150 ms from camera to screen on Windows) and charges the phone while it streams. Wi-Fi needs no cable: pair once with a 6-digit code and it reconnects by itself.
Does it work with an iPhone or a Mac?
Not yet. Camora needs an Android phone (8.0 or newer) and a Windows 11 or Ubuntu computer.
Turn your phone into your webcam
Camora is free: install it on your Android phone and on your Windows 11 or Ubuntu computer, and you're live in a few minutes.
